Race to Eden by Alma Yates. Published by Covenant Communications, Inc.

"Although they are only a year apart, brothers and best friends Brad and Chris Huish are very different from one another. One thing the brothers do have in common is their feeling for Tiffany Gibson. But as the three of them approach adulthood, the boundaries that have kept the trio together since childhood are slowly disappearing.

Brad is off to college with a football scholarship, leaving Chris in search of an identity outside of his older brother’s shadow. With Brad away, Tiffany is forced to look beyond infatuation and is beginning to understand her feelings about the two brothers. Then, in one tragic night, everything will change. Laced with surprising wisdom and insight, Race to Eden is a tender and powerful story of two loving, yet still competitive, brothers each on a journey to discover his own mission in life.”

Let me warn you in advance. I cried. I don’t cry very easily over books, and I thought I could predict what was going to happen in this one. But I was wrong. This book is about a triangle friendship, two boys and one girl and one crucial year in their lives. The author does a great job of drawing you into the characters and their story. By the end, I felt like I knew them all well. I really enjoyed this story of friendship, faith, love and endurance. If you need a good book to cry over, this one is it.
