Four-year-old Connor Teagler, a boy in television reporter Jillane Caldwell’s Primary class, is missing. Now her boss has given Jill her first serious assignment. But soon she senses the story is more sinister than a simple case of a child who has wandered off. She is desperate to find her favorite Sunbeam. But she needs help—which she reluctantly finds in seasoned tracker Clay Eskiminzin.
Clay knows he can find Connor—but he can’t promise to find the boy alive. Now these unlikely partners begin a search for the missing boy in the wilderness—where they must battle against the evils of men as well as the unrelenting forces of nature if they are to rescue an innocent child.
Okay, I have to say that I really liked this book but there were a few parts that I didn't like. I loved the story & I really enjoyed the main character, Jillanne Caldwell. I was constantly laughing at how she thought and the things that she said, especially how they related to "batguy" (the other main character). I could tell that this book was very carefully researched and I learned a lot from it. In fact, I learned so much that when I flew into Phoenix, Arizona this last weekend - I was looking from the air for the canyon that this story took place in.
Now for what I didn't like as much. There were several magazine type articles about beauty secrets inserted into different places in this book. While, they were very interesting and informative, I felt they broke up the story and after reading them I would have to figure out what was happening with the plot again. There were only three or four of these "articles" and they are easy to skim over - if you are not interested in reading them. Who knows, maybe these beauty secrets could help you! Aside from these "articles" I thoroughly enjoyed this book - and I highly recommend it!
