Foul Play by Betsy Brannon Green, published by Covenant Communications

The city of Atlanta is buzzing with excitement over the formation of a glamorous new enterprise that promises huge rewards to those at the top. Billie Murphy, a full-time public relations representative with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and part-time writer of fiction, has been watching from the sidelines. But not for long. Soon, forces beyond her control will draw her into a deadly game of fraud and deceit initiated by those who will stop at nothing—even murder—to win. To survive, Billie must trust a man whose reassuring exterior hides a devastating past. But time is running out . .

"Billie screamed, but the sound was swallowed up in the crowd noise. She pushed frantically against the people surrounding her. Some moved aside and others pushed back, but her progress was still slow. She looked up at the man with the gun. It was pointed at the back of Nathan's head. In horror, she realized that Nathan was about to die and she couldn't stop it. All she could do was stand by helplessly and watch."

This book was a bit slow to begin with. I'm sure that the author needed to set up the background and establish the characters. After the first few chapters the story really picked up. It didn't take too long for me to be completely hooked. It is a mystery, thriller, and a romance all artfully written into one story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
