Too Good To Be True by Taunia L. Bean, published by Covenant Communications

College roommates Julia and Morgan are about as different as two friends could possibly be. Julia is a serious student who is working hard to prepare herself for a career in science. Insecure about men, she has set her sights on gaining a degree that will put her on the path to success. Morgan, on the other hand, concentrates on men rather than grades. Beautiful and flirtatious, she wins over almost every male she meets.

Despite these differences, years of friendship have helped Julia and Morgan forge a bond that withstands a variety of frustrations. Then one night, Morgan deliberately lures Julia’s boyfriend into a compromising situation that could have serious consequences for everyone involved, including a faraway missionary who hopes that Morgan is waiting for him and each of them will be forced to grow in ways they never could have expected.

I was able to be roommates with several really good friends when I went to college. In each situation, it tested our friendship and we had to learn new things about each other that we didn't know before. Most of the friendships survived the experience. A couple of them didn't. Living with someone really teaches you alot about that other person - and usually a lot about yourself too.

This book really expresses the struggle that we sometimes have with living with someone that we thought we knew well. It shows how relationships can be hurt by things that we might innocently or not so innocently do. It shows the long reaching effect that deliberate mischief can cause. I enjoyed reading about these relationships and remembering my own. It is a story of love, forgiveness, and realizing your own self worth as well as the individual worth of those around you. Most of all it is a story about relationships.
